Aurora University Athletics in conjunction with BSN Sports proudly announces the recipients of the BSN Spartan Athletes of the Week award. The honors are earned based on the student-athletes performances on their respective playing surface the previous week.

This week's honors go to AU student-athletes, senior Christian Wakeford of men's golf and junior Mia Rivera of softball.

Christian Wakeford, golf - 
Wakeford earned the honor after he won the Lake Forest Forester Spring Invite with a two-round score of six-under 138 (70/68) and earlier in the week he finished seventh at the WLC Morningstar Masters, shooting a two-round 142 (69/73).  Over the four rounds on the week, he averaged a 70.

Mia Rivera, softball - 
Rivera earned the award after she went 2-0 with wins over Marian (13-2) and Rockford (9-0). In the win over Marian, she scattered five hits while striking out two and giving up two unearned runs. In the Rockford win, she tossed the five-inning complete game shutout, allowing three hits and struck out one.  She also went 10-for-17 at the plate in the four games scoring six runs and driving in one.
