The Aurora University softball team split a NACC doubleheader at Wisconsin Lutheran on Wednesday afternoon, dropping a tightly contested 2-1 decision in game one before responding with an 11-2 victory in game two. The Spartans were limited in timely hitting in the opener despite an 11-hit effort, but bounced back in a big way in the second game, erupting for 18 hits to secure the split.

Game One
- The Spartans threatened early, recording hits in multiple innings, but was unable to break through as the game remained scoreless through the first three frames.
- WLCÂ opened the scoring in the fourth inning, using a lead-off base-runner and an RBI single to take a 1-0 lead.
- A sacrifice fly in the fifth inning extended the lead to 2-0.
- The Spartans answered in the sixth inning.
Alyssa Gale singled to start the rally and eventually came around to score on an RBI ground-out by
Aubrey Ortiz to cut the deficit to 2-1.
- Aurora looked to mount a late comeback in the seventh, but the tying run was left stranded as the game came to a close.
Game Two
- The Spartans jumped on the board early in the first inning, taking advantage of traffic on the bases to grab a 1-0 lead.
- After the game was tied in the bottom half of the inning, the Spartans answered right back in the second.

Aubrey Ortiz each singled to set the table before
Angie Delgado delivered an RBI single and Stephani Debise followed with another RBI hit to push Aurora ahead 3-1.
- The Spartans continued to add on in the fourth inning. Rivera singled to start the frame, and Debise drove in a run with a double before
Nina Richards came through with a two-run double to extend the lead to 6-1.
- WLCÂ scratched across a run in the fourth, but the Spartans responded with its biggest inning of the game in the fifth.
- The Spartans erupted for five runs on six hits in the frame. Debise and Richards each collected RBI singles,
Lily Komperda added a hit in the rally, and
Kelsey Oviatt delivered a two-run double down the line to cap the scoring at 11-2.
