The Aurora University Men's Track and Field team competed in the Fighting Chance Invite hosted by University of St. Francis in Joliet, IL this weekend. The meet was the final competition of the season for multiple Spartans, while some will be continuing on to compete at the Midwest Twilight Qualifier at Augustana College on Wednesday.

The Spartan 4x100-Meter Relay of
Joshua Beechler,
Jaxson Foster,
Ethan Taylor, and
Jahrel Rimpel placed sixth in 42.25. Their time is now fourth in school history in the event.

Freshman
Jaxson Foster raced to a personal best time of 10.91s in the 100-Meter. He is now eighth in school history in the event.

Armando Acosta ran a spirited race in the second section of the 1,500-Meter, taking the lead and pushing the pace with a lap and a half to go, before ultimately fading to finish eighth in 3:55.72.

Anthony Salinas competed in the Javelin Throw, where he finished eighth with a mark of 44.66m.

Aurora's Pole Vaulters had a strong day.
James Marompon placed ninth with a personal best mark of 4.05m.
Matthew Dean finished close behind in 11th, clearing 3.90m.

Up next, the Spartans will compete in the Augustana Midwest Twilight Qualifier hosted by Augustana College in Rock Island, IL. The meet will take place on Wednesday, May 13.
