Negley dominates field as Spartans win Double Gun

The Aurora University men's golf team returned to the course to start the 2026 season in the AU Double Gun at Aurora Country Club. The Spartans led by junior Caleb Negley dominated the day with AU-A winning the event, riding the wave to a one-under par 575 with a first round score of three-under 285 and shot a 290 in the second round. Negley led the way individually, winning medalist honors for a second consecutive year, shooting a 10-under par 134 (66/68) and was joined by his six teammates to all finish in the top 12.

AU-A - 575 team score (285/290) - Team Champions
- Caleb Negley won individual medalist honors with a two-round score of 10-under 134 (66/68).
- Brandon Burggraf finished tied for second with a two-round score of two-under 142 (71/71).
- Mattias Morris finished tied for 10th with a two-round score of 148 (75/73).
- Clay Heilman finished tied for 31st with a two-round score of 154 (73/81).
- Daniel Holmberg finished finished tied for 36th with a two-round score of 155 (77/78).

AU-B - 594 team score (303/291) - 2nd place
- Trenton Kurtz finished tied for seventh with a two-round score of 146 (75/71).
- Ty Pennypacker finished ninth with a two-round score of 147 (78/69).
- William Lange finished tied for 10th with a two-round score of 148 (73/75).
- Kashton Wilson finished tied for 25th with a two-round score of 153 (77/76).
- Zach Johnson finished tied for 40th with a two-round score of 156 (80/76).

- George Proudman finished sixth with a two-round score of 145 (76/69).

- Shinil Balakrishnan finished tied for 66th with a two-round score of 161 (78/83).
- Ian Metzger finished tied for 75th as an individual with a two-round score of 162 (76/86).
- Ryan Watson finished tied for 81st with a two-round score of 164 (85/79).
- Ben Ramsden-Wood finished tied for 91st as an individual with a two-round score of 168 (85/79).
- Brydon North was forced to withdraw.
