Nicole Farr (Kramer) became the head coach of the Spartan men's and women's cross country programs in August 2016, and an assistant track & field coach for distance and mid-distance events.Â
A few highlights of Coach Farr’s time at AU include:
-Eleven NACC team championships, including shared titles for both men’s and women’s cross country in 2016, track and field in 2018, and track and field in 2019
-USTFCCCA All-Academic team honors for both men’s and women’s XC programs in 2018, the first time both programs received the award in the same year
-Jim Scott Award for Men’s Cross Country, awarded to an AU program that best exhibits success, scholarship, sportsmanship and service, 2017-18 season
-77 All-Conference honorees, 15 individual conference champions, and 5 All-Region performers
-Two Track Athletes of the Meet: Jazzmine Reyes (NACC Outdoor 2019) and Jackie Schane (NACC Indoor 2018)
-Jackie Schane re-writing the AU record books for the 6k (21:20.2) at the NCAA XC Championships in 2016, then on the track in the 10k (37:03.62), indoor 5k (17:30.29) and outdoor 5k (17:33.06)
-Anthony Barrios becoming the first in AU history to break four minutes in the 1500m run (3:59.16), 2017

Coach Farr arrived at AU from Olivet Nazarene University (NAIA), where she served as the assistant coach for distance, recruiting coordinator and home meet director from 2014-16. The Tigers won five of a possible six Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference team titles while she was at ONU. Farr also assisted in coaching the men’s cross country team to a 3rd place national finish in 2014. In 2016, Farr coached a redshirt freshman to an All-American 4th place finish at NAIA Championships in the 3,000m steeplechase. Farr had previous coaching stops at Frostburg State (DIII) in 2012 and 2013, and Xavier University (DI), where she assisted in coaching the first-ever NCAA DI Championships qualifier for the cross country program in 2013.

A student-athlete at Calvin College from 2006-2010, Farr received All-Region honors with her team that placed 2nd at the National XC Championships in 2008. Farr became an All-American in the Distance Medley Relay in 2009, and was a two-time NCAA provisional qualifier in the steeplechase. Farr grew up nearby in Warrenville, Illinois and attended Wheaton-Warrenville South High School. A three-sport athlete in cross country, basketball and track, Farr was a five-time state qualifier and four-time all-conference selection in the DuPage Valley Conference. Â
Farr holds a master's degree in sports administration from Bowling Green State University, where she researched DI and DIII student-athlete experiences. At Bowling Green, Farr competed in the 2011 indoor track season with remaining eligibility. She has continued to train and compete in road races, triathlons, and most recently the 2019 Boston Marathon. Coach Farr has certifications in Endurance (USTFCCCA), Strength and Conditioning (USTFCCCA), and USATF Level 1.
Nicole Farr (Kramer) is married to Eric Kramer, who is also a college track & field coach.
