Loren Iwanicki began his coaching career at AU in the 2015-2016 season. In the fall of 2018, Iwanicki was promoted to the horizontal jumps coach in addition to high jump coach.
In his previous six years at AU, Iwanicki has coached one All-American to a third-place finish, two national qualifiers, 12 conference champions, 39 All-Conference Performers, one AU school record in the Triple Jump, and four AU school records in the High Jump.
As an athlete for the Spartans from 2011-15, Iwanicki captured the high jump conference title at the outdoor NAC meet in 2011. Iwanicki also stepped up in long jump by placing 6th in 2014 at the outdoor NACC Championships. In the high jump, he was a five-time All-Conference performer, four-time school record holder, and holds the current indoor high jump record of 2.03m (6’8”).
