Mike McKenzie

Mike McKenzie will enter his second season as the women's tennis coach and sixth season overall at AU, the previous five he served as head softball coach of the up-and-coming Aurora University softball program.

At AU, McKenzie has compile a 179-44-2 record, two NAC conference championship and three NIIC conference championships. McKenzie was named NAC Coach of the Year in 2007 and 2008 and NIIC Coach of the Year in 2005 and 2006. He came to Aurora from Marian College in Indianapolis where he served as the head women's softball coach, assistant men's basketball coach, and director of intramurals. Over six seasons at Marian, McKenzie posted a 171-80 record, including a 36-10 record and a NAIA national tournament appearance in 2003. He was named Mid-Central Conference coach of the year in the 1998 and 2002 seasons.

McKenzie began his coaching career as a basketball and baseball coach at Scecina Memorial High School in Indianapolis from 1986 to 1995. As an athlete, he played both basketball and baseball at Beech Grove High School in Indianapolis where he was named MVP of his varsity basketball team.

McKenzie continued his playing career at Marian College in Indianapolis. He was a three-year starter and captain of the men's basketball team. He received his B.S. in physical education from Marian College and his master's degree in kinesiology from Indiana University. He was named outstanding senior in physical education at Marian College in 1986.
