Alyson Teixeira joined the Aurora University Athletic Department as the first Athletic Communications Graduate Assistant in August 2021 and completed her Master’s in Business Administration in 2023. She was promoted to Assistant Director of Athletic Communications in June 2023 while also assuming the duties of the Athletic Department's Coordinator of Department Operations.
Teixeira graduated from Aurora University in the spring of 2021, earning bachelor’s degrees in marketing and sports management. During her undergrad, she served three years as a student assistant in the athletic communication department, as well as an intern during her senior year. In these roles, Teixeira enhanced and oversaw all athletic social platforms, including planning, creating, and publishing digital content. Additionally, she served on the AU SAAC committee and was selected to attend the 2021 NCAA Career in Sports Forum.
Teixeira was a four-year member of the Spartan Softball program. Her career culminated in being named Third-Team CoSIDA Academic All-American, National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Region, and Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference All-Conference performer.
Currently, Teixeira assists in managing the primary day-to-day communication needs of all 24 intercollegiate sports, including coverage of events, statistics entry via NCAA LiveStats and Presto Sports, and writing press releases and post-game stories. She is also responsible for planning and publicizing creative content, including gameday graphics, campaigns, and video content that has helped enhance and drive engagement on all Spartan social media platforms.
Additionally, Teixeira monitors all operational and restricted budgets and leads daily business operations for the department. She assists with logistical operations for coaches and teams, including communication with third-party vendors, and manages the onboarding process for graduate assistants and stipend coaches. Teixeira also assists the SWA with leadership development opportunities and SAAC.
Teixeira is a native of Santa Clara, California.
