Brian Kipley became the Sports Information Director at AU in January of 2003.
He came to AU in 2003 as the Sports Information Director and assistant coach in the Aurora University baseball program.
Since starting his tenure at AU, Kipley has seen the Spartan athletic department grow from 11 sports in 2003 to 24 in the 2017-2018 year. Additionally, AU sports information has expanded to offer live hd video of home contests, live stats and partners with Sidearm sports for the athletic website - athletics.aurora.edu.
In his time at AU, the Spartans have had student-athletes selected 44 (of the 50 total in school history) times as a CSC (formerly CoSIDA) Academic All-America® scholar-athlete with one receiving the programs highest honor as CoSIDA Academic All-America® scholar-athlete of the Year. Additionally, AU has had two AFCA Good Works members in his time.
With the Spartan baseball program, he worked with the pitching staff and AU’s junior varsity program for five seasons (2003-2007). In his five seasons as an assistant coach with the Spartans, AU had a 138-79 overall record and 60-33 in conference play. The Spartans won two conference championships, three conference tournament championships and made three NCAA Tournament appearances with two NCAA Regional Championships. The 2004 Spartans finished third and the 2006 Spartans finished seventh at the NCAA Division III Championships.
Kipley entered the Aurora baseball program as a freshman in 1998 and played four years with the Spartans. In those four years, he was part of four NIIC championship teams and made three trips to the NCAA regional with one NCAA Regional Championship. In his four seasons, AU had a record of 134-39 overall and 62-10 in the NIIC.
Kipley earned his bachelors degree in business administration in 2002 from AU and was a Dunham Scholar within the Dunham School of Business.
He is a graduate of Mount Carmel High School in Chicago, Illinois. He is married to Samantha and the couple have three sons, Max, Chad and Drew.
