Aurora University freshman jumper Nick Williams (Port Charlotte, Fla./Port Charlotte H.S.) was named the Northern Athletics Conference Men’s Indoor Track and Field Student-Athletes of the Week for the week ending February 17, 2013. The award is Williams third in the 2013 season.
Williams once again set a school record in a meet, this time at the University of Chicago Margaret Bradley Invitational. He set an AU record in the 55-meter dash with a time of 6.53 seconds, which placed him second in the event. He also went on to win the long jump (6.63 meters), won the triple jump (13.25 meters) and was the anchor leg on the 4x400 meter relay team that won the event with a time of 3:28.77.
Next action for Williams and the Spartan men's track and field team comes on Saturday, February 23 when they compete in the 2013 Northern Athletics Conference Championships. Meet time is set for 11:00 a.m. in Kenosha, Wis. at UW-Parkside.
