Aurora University sophomore pitcher Eric Palmer (Melrose Park, Ill./East Leyden H.S.) was named Northern Athletics Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week for the week ending March 31, 2013.
Palmer won his only game of the week, a 3-1 win over Milwaukee School of Engineering. In 7-2/3 innings of work, he struck out 13, scattered two hits, walked two and allowed only one run.
Palmer now has a 1-1 record with a 2.45 earned run average to start the 2013 season. In 14-2/3 innings pitcher, he has struck out 24, allowing 12 hits, five runs and walking four.
Next action for the Spartan baseball team comes on Saturday, April 6 when they host Lakeland College. Game time is set for noon in Aurora, Ill.
