Throughout the 2020-2021 year, the Aurora University athletic department will highlight the senior student-athletes. The seniors will provide some insight to their time at AU while getting to know them as individuals they have grown into in their time as a Spartan.

Senior Spotlight: Tyler Owens (Football)
Major: Social Work
What are your plans after graduation? I plan to continue my education at AU to get my masters in social work.
What is your most memorable/best academic experience at AU? Being accepted into my internship at Elder care services for my social work degree.
What is your most memorable athletic moment at AU? Winning the conference championship.
Other than the sport(s) you play; what other sports activity are you good at? Working on cars.
Outside of sports, what is your favorite hobby or activity? Working outdoors.
What is your favorite meal in the cafeteria? Pasta and meatballs.
What AU faculty or staff member had the greatest impact on you and why? Head Coach Don Beebe because he has helped me on so many levels. He has helped me be a better man, better athlete and a man of faith.
What do you enjoy most and least about practice? I love getting after it and working hard with my teammates and I don't like the really hot days.
Do you have any pregame rituals? I listen to Salvador.
What advice would you give to underclassmen at AU? Focus on truly what is important and do everything you can to make those things happen.
If you had to listen to one song on repeat forever, what would it be and why? Heaven by Salavdor.
What is something that people may not know about you but should? I am a man of faith.
If you could spend an hour each with three people (past or present), who would you choose and why? My mom, my grandpa and my dad because those are the people that really helped me be the person I am.
