Aurora University men’s soccer player senior forward Nick Helmer (Geneva, Ill./Geneva HS) was named the Northern Athletics Conference Men’s Soccer Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending September 19, 2010. 

Helmer was involved in each of the Spartans' three scores last week. He had the game-winning goal on a penalty kick against Concordia University Wisconsin in a 1-0 victory on Sunday, while earlier in the week he added a goal and assist in AU's 2-2 tie against Wheaton (Ill.).

On the season, Helmer has three goals and two assists for the Spartans, who are ranked sixth in this week’s NSCAA central region rankings.

Helmer and the Spartan men’s soccer team are in action next on Wednesday, September 22, 2010, when they travel to North Park University in a non-conference match-up. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m. in Chicago, Ill.
