Helmer (Geneva, Ill./Geneva HS), was named the Northern Athletics Conference Men’s Soccer Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending September 6, 2009.

On the week, Helmer led AU to a 3-0 record with four goals, one assist, two game-winning goals and was one-of-one on penalty kicks.

In AU's 7-0 win over Illinois College this past Sunday, he recorded his first career hat trick.
