Ian Luyando was named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Football Offensive Player of the Week as selected by a panel of the NACC Athletic Communication professionals. The honor is the third of the 2023 season for Luyando.
Luyando earned the honor after he accounted for six of Aurora's 11 touchdowns in the Spartans' 77-10 victory at Rockford. Luyando had five touchdown passes while going 22-of-25 through the air for 327 yards and a 263.9 efficiency. He also had 50 yards on seven carries, including a 30-yard rushing touchdown.
On the season, Luyando is 132-of-200 passing for 1,991 yards, 31 touchdowns and four interceptions. He has a quarterback rating of 196.77, averaging 248.8 yards per game with a 66.0% completion percentage. On the ground, Luyando has rushed 73 times for 453 yards and three touchdowns.
Next action for the Spartan football team comes on Saturday, November 4 when they host Lakeland University. Game time is slated for 1:00 p.m. on Spartan Athletic Park in Montgomery, Illinois.
