Aurora University senior Deedee Colon Maldonado was named Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Cross Country Student-Athlete of the Week, as selected by the league's athletics communications professionals. 

Colon Maldonado earned the honor after she placed third in the Gold Division race at the Augustana (Ill.) Interregional Invitational on Oct. 19. She was both the top NACC finisher as well as the top Midwest Region finisher in the field of 355 runners. Her time of 21:18.0 also set a new NACC all-time 6K record, bettering the mark of 21:20.2 posted by AU's Jackie Schane at the 2016 NCAA Championships.

Next action for the Spartan women's cross-country team comes on Saturday, November 2 when they host the 2024 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Championship race at Northwestern Medicine Cross Country Course in Geneva, Illinois. Meet time is slated for 11:00 a.m.
