Aurora University Spartan baseball junior third baseman Tim Mackey (Rosemont, Ill./East Leyden H.S.) was named Northern Athletics Conference Baseball Position Player of the Week for the week ending April 17, 2011. 

Mackey hit safely in 7-of-10 at-bats on the week with a double, triple, seven runs scored and drove in four more. With a 1.000 slugging percentage and .769 on-base percentage he was also a perfect 5-for-5 in stolen base attempts.

AU is currently 16-8 overall and 8-2 in the NAC. Thus far on the 2011 season, Mackey is hitting .418 with seven doubles, two triples and one home run. He has 35 runs scored, 19 runs batted in and is 15-of-17 in stolen bases.

Next action for Mackey and the Spartan baseball team comes on Tuesday, April 19, 2011, when they host Elmhurst College. Game time is set for 3:00 p.m. at Solfisburg Park in Aurora, Ill.
