The Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) has announced its 3 Stars of the Week. AU Spartan men's hockey forward Hassan Akl was named one of the three stars of the week.

Akl earned the recognition after he had an eight point weekend in a series sweep for AU against Lawrence. The Spartans won a pair of 5-1 contests as Akl tallied a three goals and five assists with a goal and two assists in the opener at Lawrence and then added two goals and three assists to account for points on all five AU scores in the 5-1 win to cap off the weekend.

On the season, Akl now leads the Spartans in points (16) and assists (12) while adding four goals one of which came as a game-winner.

Next scheduled action for the Spartan men's hockey team comes on Friday, December 13 when they host Hamline University. Puck drop is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. at the Fox Valley Ice Arena in Geneva, Illinois.
