The Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) has announced its 3 Stars of the Week. AU Spartan men's hockey defenseman Juliano Santalucia and forward Landry Schmuck were named two of the three stars of the week, the honor is a third time for Schmuck earning the award this season.

Juliano Santalucia
Santalucia had three points (one goal and two assists) during an AU sweep of Concordia Wisconsin. The defenseman assisted on scores in the first and second period of Friday's 7-0 shutout over the Falcons. The Burnaby, British Columbia native netted the game-winning goal, a power-play score, at 5:15 in the 3rd period, in Saturday's 5-2 victory.

Landry Schmuck
Schmuck recorded six points (four goals and two assists) to help AU extend its winning streak to 6 games. The rookie has 21 goals this season, which is a Spartan men's single-season and freshman record. During Friday's 7-0 shutout over Concordia Wisconsin, he netted goals in the 1st and 3rd periods to go along with assists in between. The Hunsville, Alabama native found the back of the net in the 2nd and 3rd periods of Saturday's 5-2 decision.

Next scheduled action for the Spartan men's hockey team comes on Friday, January 31 when they host Trine University. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at the Fox Valley Ice Arena in Geneva, Illinois.
