Aurora University Spartan baseball junior pitcher Steve Sitterly (Romeoville, Ill./Romeoville H.S.) was named Northern Athletics Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week for the week ending May 1, 2011. 

Sitterly was 2-0 for the Spartans as they went 7-1 on the week. The right-hander defeated Concordia University Chicago, 6-0, with a complete-game shutout and then earned the win in AU's 13-11 victory over Benedictine University. He had a 2.45 ERA in 14-2/3 innings of work with 13 strikeouts and just three walks.

AU is currently 24-10 overall and 15-3 in the NAC. Thus far on the 2011 season, Sitterly is 4-1 with a 2.92 earned run average in 37 innings pitched. He has two complete games with two shutouts and 27 strikeouts while teams are hitting .265 against him.

Next action for Sitterly and the Spartan baseball team comes on Thursday, May 5, 2011, when they travel to Alexian Field in Schaumburg, Ill. to take on Dominican University. Game one of the doubleheader is set for 3:00 p.m.
