www.aurora.edu) – Aurora University Spartan baseball sophomore designated hitter Mike Foley (Mokena, Ill./Joliet Catholic Academy) was named Northern Athletics Conference Baseball Position Player of the Week for the week ending May 8, 2011.
Foley had a nice week at the plate for the Spartans, hitting .565 with two home runs, one triple, two doubles, six runs and 14 RBIs while connecting for a slugging percentage of 1.000.
AU is currently 27-11 overall and 18-4 in the NAC. Thus far on the 2011 season, Foley is hitting .358 with a team-high 13 doubles, a team-high five triples and four home runs. He has 28 runs scored, a team-high 48 runs batted in and is three-of-five in stolen bases.
Next action for Foley and the Spartan baseball team comes on Friday, May 13, 2011, when they play in the 2011 Northern Athletics Conference baseball tournament. AU will take on Concordia University Wisconsin at 12:30 p.m. at Road Ranger Stadium in Loves Park, Ill.
