Brittany Carper

Brittany Carper was named the Head Coach of the Aurora University women’s basketball program in the spring of 2013, becoming AU’s 17th coach in the programs 36 years of existence.

In her first season at AU, Carper was named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) 2013-2014 women’s basketball Coach of the Year. She led AU to their first NACC Tournament appearance in four seasons. The 2013-2014 Spartan women finished the season with a 12-14 overall record and were tied for sixth with an 11-9 record in the NACC. In her third season, AU set many records and reached the NACC Tournament Championship which hadn't happened for over a decade.

Carper came to AU after two seasons as an assistant coach at Carthage College. While at Carthage, she assisted in leading the women’s program to their first ever outright CCIW Championship in 2013 and back to back NCAA Division III national tournament appearances including a run to the Elite 8 in 2012. Carthage went 47-13 in her two years as an assistant.

A native of Sioux City, Iowa,, Carper was an assistant coach for the Quincy University women’s basketball team for four seasons from 2008 to 2011. Prior to that, she served as a volunteer assistant coach at Southwest Minnesota State University for the 2005-06 season. Carper graduated from Morningside College in 2005 with a degree in business administration and finance. She received her master’s in educational leadership from Quincy in 2010.

Carper was a four-year member of the basketball team at Morningside and was named the NAIA Division II “Player of the Year” in 2004 after leading the Mustangs to the first of two national championship with a 21.5 scoring average, 5.8 rebounds, 7.2 assists and 4.0 steals per game. She was also named the Great Plains Athletic Conference “Player of the Year” in 2004, NAIA All-American in both 2004 and 2005 and ESPN the Magazine/CoSIDA academic all-district in 2005.
