The Aurora University Spartan women's Soccer team defeated the Beavers of Babson College 3-2 on a beautiful Friday afternoon at Vago Field. The Spartan win improves their record to 1-1.
The first goal of the game was scored by sophomore midfielder
Haley Pschirrer in the 8
th minute of action, her first goal of the game and season was unassisted.
The Beavers fired back halfway through the first period with an unassisted goal by junior forward Patty Pytlik. Pytlik's goal, her second of the season came in the 21st minute.
Pschirrer wasted no time answering back with an unassisted goal just three minutes later, again she was unassisted.
Pytlik scored her second goal of the game in the 50th minute of the contest, again tying the contest. This was her third goal of the season for the Pytlik.
With the game tied, senior forward Jessica Novickas scored her first goal of the season halfway through the second period (62nd minute). This proved to be the game winning goal as the Spartans held on in the remaining 27 minutes.
The game was evenly matched with the Beavers outshooting the Spartans 12 to 11.
Senior goalkeeper Jenny Jarvis managed to out perform the Beaver goalkeeper tandem of senior Sam Scarpato and junior Sarah Macary. Jarvis had five saves to four for the Beaver duo.
