Spartans roll Raiders 19-2 in lacrosse action.

Holka was strong in goal in the 19-2 win.
Looking to win for the sixth time in the last seven games, the Aurora University Spartan men's lacrosse team hosted the Raiders of Milwaukee School of Engineering Wednesday afternoon on Vago Field.

The Spartans left little doubt that the end result would be their fourth win at home on Vago Field, scoring four times in the first minute of play before opening up a 9-0 first period lead enroute to an eventual 19-2 win.

Seven different Spartans tallied goals in the first period with freshman Justin Bose starting the scoring binge just seconds into the contest.

AU scored twice more in the second period, as Bose scored his second of the game and fellow freshman Pat Diorka scored his third of the first half for the hat-trick.

As the Spartan offense was having its way with the Raider defense, the Spartan defense and goalkeeper Adam Holka faced just five shots and Holka needed to make just one save.

The Raiders scored for the first time in the second half cutting the Spartan lead to 11-1. Diorka and Bose tallied their fourth and third respectively building the lead to 13-1.

After the second and final Raider goal, AU scored the final six goals of the game, including two more by
Diorka giving him six on the afternoon.

10 different Spartans tallied goals on the day with six adding points by the way of assists. Diorka led the way with six goals and two assists, Bose added three goals, while Alec Downing (two goals and three assists),
Jack Meachum (two goals and one assist), Garret Rosiek (two assists), Zack Olsen, Cooper O'Brien, Sean Keogh, Curtis Williams, Chase Peterson and Bryce Kunde (each had one goal) and Jack Barry and Che'V-onn Harris each had one assist. Holka had four saves over three periods for the win and senior goalkeeper Dan Gault had two assists in a period of action.

The win improves AU to 7-4 overall and 3-1 in the MLC and can be seen in action again on Saturday, April 16, 2011 when they host Adrian College. Game time is set for 1:00 p.m. on Vago Field in Aurora, Ill.
