AU softball opens spring trip 3-1.

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 | Box Score 3 | Box Score 4 Making their annual trek to Central Florida, the Aurora University Spartan softball team opened the 2012 portion of the schedule with a 3-1 record, winning the opening game 1-0 in 8 innings over Baldwin-Wallace, losing to Simpson College 12-4 in 5 innings, defeated Muskingum University 8-1 and beat Mount Union
University 6-5.

Freshman pitched Natalie Zanella has won each of her two collegiate starts with wins coming against Baldwin-Wallace and Muskingum University. Thus far over three games she's pitched in, In 16-2/3 innings pitched, she has struck out 19 hitters and allowed two runs and 11 hits.

Offensive leaders through the first four games include Tristan Wilcox (6 for 13 with a double, five runs batted in and one run scored), Caitlyn Clay (6 for 13 with a double and three runs scored) and Samantha Angell (3 for 10 with a double, four runs batted in and one run scored).

Following a day off, the Spartans return to action on Wednesday, March 7 when they play Bluffton College (9 am) and Catholic University (11 am) in Kissimmee, Florida.
