AU women cap off 2013 regular season with 4-0 win

Box Score The Aurora University Spartan women's soccer team finished the 2013 regular season by hosting the Regents of Rockford University on a misty afternoon on Vago Field. AU went on to defeat Rockford 4-0 in the match.

Playing less than 24 hours after defeating Elmhurst College 3-2, the Spartans got on the scoreboard in the 12th minute and would never look back. Junior Nicole
Wolfe scored her 12 of the season on an assist from Nicci Bermudes.

The game would remain 1-0 until the 66th minute when Brittany Hirsh tallied her second goal of the seeason. Eight minutes later, Erin Aragon scored her first of the season off an assist from Delyaliz Ambert.

Leading 3-0 in the final minutes, AU freshman Alyssa Mok scored her first collegiate goal.

AU goalkeepers Maddy Crawford and Marisela Mascote faced two shots in the
game for the shutout.

With the victory, AU is now 16-2 overall and 10-1 in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference. The Spartans locked up at least a share of the 2013 NACC Championship and could win it outright pending the NACC contest this evening between Edgewood and MSOE.

Next action for the Spartan women's soccer team comes on Wednesday, November 6 when they host the semi-final round of the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Tournament. AU will host a to be determined opponent at 1:00 p.m. on Vago Field.
