Men's Track and Field use BU Twilight to set several records

Freshman Alex Duncan set an AU and Conference record in the meet
The Aurora University Spartan men's Track and Field competed on Friday, April 26th at the Benedictine University Twilight Invitational. AU finished eighth overall in team points. “Overall, we had 6 team records set today,” said head coach Ryan Chapman. “We are peaking at just the right time.”
 
Freshman Alex Duncan finished fourth overall in the 800 meters with a time of 1:54.35. Duncan's final time set not only an AU school record, but a Northern Athletics Conference record as well. Earlier this season, Duncan also set the indoor 800 record as well. “I just need to get healthy before conference next week,” said Duncan.
 
Freshman Kalmon Stokes finished third overall in the 400 hurdles with a final time of 55 seconds. Stokes' final time set an AU record. “I knew I could run better after the 400 hurdles,” said Stokes. “So we had to show out for the 4x400 meter relay.
 
Freshman Nick Williams finished third in the long jump with a final mark of 6.83 meters. Williams also finished sixth in the triple jump with a final mark of 13.53 meters. Williams set a school record in both events.
 
Sophomore Loren Iwanicki finished seventh in the men's high jump. Iwanicki's final height of 1.95 meters ties an AU school record. Iwanicki returned to the team in 2013 after taking 2012 off. Iwanicki is also the 2011 outdoor conference champion.

Next action for the Spartan men's track and field team comes on Friday, May 3 and Saturday May 4 at the 2013 Northern Athletics Conference Championships hosted by Wisconsin Lutheran College. Meet time is set for 11 a.m. in Milwaukee, Wis.
