The Aurora University Men's XC team had a field day at Waubonsee Community College on Saturday, placing 18 men in the top 21.

Leading the way for the Spartans were freshman Jimmy Baeskens, local new-comer Matt Meyers, returners Nick Quiroz and Nick Cole, and Colorado native Ben Ervin. Junior Malik Dorris and freshmen Luke Miller rounded out the top-7 for the Spartans.

"We had a fun time out there today," says Coach Ryan Chapman. "After a long summer of training, it's always nice to get that first race in."

Next action for the Spartan cross country team comes on Friday, September 6 when they host the Spartan XC Classic. Meet time is set for 5:00 pm at Oakhurst Forest Preserve in Aurora, Ill.
