The Aurora University hockey team dropped their second pool play contest of the 2014 American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) National Tournament to California University Pennsylvana on Wednesday night, 6-1.
AU fell behind in the first period to the top seeded team in their pool and headed into the first intermission down 3-0.
The Spartans did get on the scoreboard in the second period with
Kevin Salinas narrowing the deficit to 3-1. But Cal Penn tallied two more goals to take a commanding 5-1 lead at the end of two periods.
Cal Penn scored one more time in the third period for the eventual 6-1 final score.
AU is now 0-2 in pool play and next action for the Spartan hockey team comes on Thursday,
March 12 when they play the University Mississippi (Ole Miss) in Coral Springs, Fla. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. (6:30 p.m. Aurora time).
