Low scoring affair not in favor of AU women

Two weeks after defeating the Lakeland College Muskies in Thornton Gymnasium, the Aurora University women's basketball team took to the road to take on the Muskies in Plymouth, Wisconsin. A low scoring contest finished with AU falling 58-51.

The first-half saw the teams play a tight contest with the score 18-17 Lakeland with 8:30 to play. A 14-7 run though by Lakeland had the Spartans down eight at halftime at 32-24. The teams both shot in the low 30's percentage wise in the half.

AU did not shoot well in the second half and allowed the home Muskies to maintain a lead of 10 to 13 points for a good portion of the second half before the final score of 58-51.

AU freshman Morgan Ricketts finished with a double-double (10 points and 12 rebounds) while juniors Shannon Koski (15 points) and Bethany Dorrington (12 points) were the only Spartans in double figures on the night.

With the loss, AU is now 5-12 overall and 5-7 in the NACC. Next action for the Spartan women's basketball team comes on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 when they travel to Benedictine University. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m. in Lisle, Illinois.
