On Saturday January 17, 2015 the men's track and field team traveled to University of Wisconsin Whitewater to compete in the Karl Schlender Invitational. Out of the six teams the Spartan men took third place.

In the 60 meter dash freshman Leo Okeke placed third with a time of 7.04. Joining him in the finals was freshman Camerhon Guyton who placed sixth with a time of 7.19.

In the men's 200 meter dash freshman Brandon Davis placed 27^th with a time of 25.91 and junior Daniel Ance placed 28^th with a time of 26.52 and the men's 600 meter run freshman Sean Ganey took 10^th coming in at 1:32.
 
Senior Kyle Kayzar barely missed a win in the 800 coming in second with a time of 1:57. Close behind was freshman Anthony Barrios (third- 2:01). Other Spartans who ran the 800 were sophomore Luis Salgado (13^th- 2:12) and freshman Dominique Cole (16^th- 2:17).

Those who raced the mile run were junior Alex Duncan (fourth- 4:39), junior Calvin Robinson (fifth- 4:40), senior Roberto Gonzalez (seventh- 4:47), senior Matt Swanson (ninth- 5:51), sophomore Kun Deng (11^th- 5:01), sophomore D.J. Wolfram (12^th- 5:04), freshman Aaron Lehman (13^th- 5:27), sophomore Cody McDougall (14^th- 5:34) and senior Doug Belling (15^th- 5:36).

For the 3000 meter run sophomore Matt Meyers came in third for the Spartans running a time of 9:12. Others who ran the 3000 were junior Nick Quiroz (fourth- 9:19), sophomore Jimmy Baeskens (seventh-9:27), senior Pete Jaros (10^th- 9:31), senior Brandon Miller (12^th- 9:35), sophomore Ben Ervin (13^th- 9:41), senior Nick Cole (17^th- 9:45), sophomore Dan Morgan (19^th- 9:53), sophomore Ryan Fromm (26^th-10:15) and sophomore Luke Miller (28^th- 10:38).

Running in the finals of the 60 meter hurdles were freshman Bobby Cooks placing second with a time of 8.37 and sophomore Taylor Coleman who placed fourth with a time of 8.75.

The 4x200 meter relay consisted of freshman Desmond Barrett, sophomore Jaylen Robinson, freshman Camerhon Guyton and Leo Okeke. The men ran a time of 1:32.48 taking first place.

In the 4x400 meter the Spartans 'A' team (Anthony Barrios, Alex Duncan, Kyle Kayzar, Jaylen Robinson) took second with a time of 3:32.01. Aurora's B team (Dominique Cole, Roberto Gonzalez, Cody McSorely, Calvin Robinson) took sixth with a time of 3:47.49. The 'C' team (Kun Deng, Aaron Lehman, Matt Swanson, D.J. Wolfram) placed eigth with a time of 3:59.69.

In the field events senior Loren Iwanicki placed fifth in the high jump with a height of 1.92. Others who high jumped at the meet were junior Brian Rudelich (sixth- 1.87), sophomore Austen Stewart (seventh- 1.87), freshman Mark Rudelich (ninth- 1.87), freshman Nick Majka (12^th- 1.82), sophomore Spencer Littlefield (13^th- 1.77m), freshman Frank Furco (14^th- 1.67).

Those who vaulted at the meet were freshmen Sean Ganey (sixth- 3.80m), sophomore Robert Sprung (3.65m), freshman Brandon Davis (seventh- 3.65m), senior Cody McSorely (ninth- 3.50m), sophomore Spencer Littlefield (12^th- 3.05) and freshman Mark Rudelich (13^th- 2.75m).

In the long jump sophomore Mario Tinsley jumped 5.41m placing 10th. Others who jumped were senior Loren Iwanicki (11^th-5.32), sophomore Robert Sprung (12^th- 5.23) and sophomore Luis Salgado (13^th- 5.06).

In the triple jump freshman Deon Conway placed second with a jump of 13.10. Others who also jumped were freshman Desmond Barrett (fourth- 12.25m), sophomore Mario Tinsley (fifth- 11.96m) and freshman Jonathan Martinez (sixth- 11.30m).

Those who competed in the shot put were senior Josiah Douglas (11^th- 11.54m), freshman Brandon Pitchen (13^th- 11.38), senior Adam Blake (14^th- 10.99), freshman Eddie Gonzalez (15^th- 10.61m), senior Thomas Rose (17^th- 10.30m), freshman Ed Lewis (19^th- 10.02m), freshman Cody Murtaugh (20^th- 8.84m) and freshman Dalton Hargrave (21^st- 8.81m).

In the weight throw senior Adam Blake (eighth- 11.41m), freshman Brandon Pichen (10^th- 10.93m), freshman Eddie Gonzalez (12^th- 10.66m), senior Josiah Douglas (13^th- 10.27m), freshman Ed Lewis (15^th- 9.99m), junior Reiner Ebarle (18^th- 8.80m), senior Thomas Rose (19^th- 8.63m), freshman Cody Murtaugh (20^th- 7.55), freshman Dalton Hargrave (21^st- 7.49m).

Next action for the Spartan track and field team comes on Friday, January 23 and Saturday, January 24 when they travel to the Monmouth College Midwest Invitational. Meet time is set for 3:30 p.m. on Friday and 10:45 a.m. on Saturday in Monmouth, Illinois.
