The Aurora University women's basketball team hosted the Raiders from Milwaukee School of Engineering on Saturday afternoon in Thornton Gymnasium and the Spartans were defeated 67-51.

The Spartans started off the game trading possessions with the Raiders and would take a three-point lead off of a three-pointer from junior guard
Bethany Dorrington. Over the next few minutes, the Spartans and Raiders continued to trade baskets.
With 14:16 on the game clock, AU junior
Shannon Koski hit a three-pointer to give the Spartans the lead, a lead that would be the last of the game for the Spartans.
With the game tied (10-10) with 13:59, MSOE made a run that the Spartans were unable to overcome. When the 21-6 run ended, MSOE led 31-16 with just over five minutes to play in the first half.
The Spartans did answer with a quick 5-0 run to cut the lead down to 10 before heading into halftime down 12 at 35-23. Dorrington led AU and all scorers with 11 first-half points.
In the second-half, the teams basically traded baskets throughout with AU never getting closer than eight points of the MSOE lead. AU cut the lead to eight (58-50) with 5:57 to play after trailing by 12 just minutes earlier. But the Spartans went cold from the field the rest of the game, losing 67-51.
With the loss, AU is now 5-14 overall and 5-9 in the NACC. Next action for the Spartan women's basketball team comes on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 when they host Dominican University.
