The Aurora University football team traveled to River Forest, Illinois to take on the Cougars of Concordia University Chicago in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference match up. The Spartans dominated the Cougars 58-7.

HOW IT HAPPENEDThe Spartans scored quick, just 53 seconds into the game from a 27 yard pass from
Geron Rogers to Danny Loguirato.
CUC answered to tie the game 7-7 midway through the first quarter.
A 10 yard pass from Rogers to
Chris Anderson would give the Spartans the lead 14-7 with 6:02 to go in the first quarter.
Following a fumble recovery,
Brandon Evans scored on a three-yard touchdown run and a 21-7 lead.
One play after an interception by
Travon Royal,
Jonathan Stokes scored on a three-yard run.
Evans would grab his second touchdown of the game to extend the Spartans lead to 34-7.
AU kicker
Zac Mirabelli kicked a 27-yard field goal to go into halftime leading 37-7.
On the first possession of the second-half,
Lorenzo Williams caught a 27 yard touchdown pass from Rogers.
After a sack by
Eric Wagner and fumble recovery from
Kurtis Chione, Rogers threw his fourth and final touchdown pass to
Peter Rizzi (17-yards) to extend the Spartans lead to 51-7.
Cody Lane capped off the scoring with a one yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.

BEYOND THE BOX SCOREAU scored 51 unanswered points after the game was tied 7-7 in the first quarter.
The Spartans led 37-7 at halftime.
AU had a total of 549 offensive yards compared to CUC's 219.
AU's defense forced five fumbles, three interceptions and had five sacks.
Nine Spartans had a rushing attempt in the game as AU ran for 328 yards.

Evans led all rushers with 135 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries.
Loguirato led AU receivers with 91 yards and one touchdown.

Ben Medlicott led the AU defense with eight tackles.
