HOW IT HAPPENED
The Spartans came out firing, hitting the post three times early in the contest.
The first AU goal came off the foot of Collin Foreman with an assisted from Angel Barajas at 23:58 in the first-half.
Early in the second-half, the Spartans tallied a goal from Ben Edith as he was assisted by Ryan Murphy at 46:50.
The Spartans went up 3-0 on a goal by Ian Connelly with an assist from Zach Henry at 62:40 in the second-half.
Connelly scored the fourth and final goal with an assist from Steven Soderstrom off of a free kick at 67:07 in the second-half.
 
FOR THE SPARTANS
Connelly led the Spartans with two goals, his first two of the season.
Edith led the Spartans with eight shots and one goal.
Foreman tallied the game winning goal.
Assists went to Barajas, Murphy, Henry and Soderstrom.
Zach McFarland had five saves and picked up a shutout win on the day.

Joey Malme led the Cougars with three shots.
Zachary Adamec had five saves on the day.
