Spartan men claim shutout win at MSOE

The Aurora University men's soccer program headed back north of the border on Wednesday night to take on the Raiders of Milwaukee School of Engineering. The Spartans defeated the previously unbeaten NACC foe 1-0 behind a strong effort from junior goalkeeper Zach McFarland.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Spartans scored what would be the games only goal late in the first-half when Xavier Ortiz turned and hit a laser into the back of the net from 15 yards out.
MSOE out shot the Spartans on the day 19 to 4 with an 5 to 2 advantage in shots on goal
MSOE had an advantage in corner kicks over AU 11 to 1.

Ortiz scored his second goal of the season, the game winner.
Zach McFarland had five saves for the Spartans for a shutout victory.
The AU defense limited MSOE's Andryk brothers to six shots with just one on goal.
