Football celebrates seniors before falling to Albion

The Aurora University football program celebrated the senior class of 2015 prior to hosting Albion College on the final game of the 2015 season. Albion proved to be a little to much for the youthful Spartans as AU fell 42-14.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Albion jumped out to a 14-0 lead on a pair of touchdown runs in the first quarter.
The score was 21-0 in favor of Albion heading into halftime.
The Britons scored twice in the opening 3:20 of the third quarter to take a commanding 35-0 lead.
AU responded with 4:05 left in the third quarter on a touchdown run from Jonathan Stokes.
The Britons added a rushing touchdown by Mike Czarnecki with 8:02 left in the fourth quarter.
AU finished the games scoring with a pair of seniors connecting. Drew Cole threw a touchdown pass to Peter Rizzi with 1:43 left in the fourth quarter.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
Sophomore wide receiver Danny Logiurato set the AU single season record for yards receiving, he finishes the season with 863.
AU won the turnover battle two to one.
Albion finished with 555 yards with AU having 301.
 
FOR THE SPARTANS
Jonathan Stokes had 97 rush yards on 25 carries and one touchdown.
Danny Logiurato had seven catches for 97 yards.
Drew Cole was three of five passing for 32 yards and one touchdown.
Peter Rizzi had two catches for 35 yards and one touchdown.
Cody Patchett led the Spartans with 10 tackles.
Justin Gibbons had his team leading fifth interception.
Kam Dawtyne had his fourth interception of the season.
 
FOR THE FOES
Dominic Bona led the Britons with 234 pass yards (28-of-38), two touchdowns and two interceptions. He added 121 rushing yards and two touchdowns.
Mike Czarnecki had 111 yards rushing on 10 carries and a touchdown.
