The Aurora University men's basketball team remained unbeaten as they came from behind to knock off the North Central College Cardinals Saturday in Thornton Gymnasium 95-92.

HOW IT HAPPENEDThe two teams traded baskets over the first 5:15 of the game before AU rattled off a 9-0 run to take an 18-8 lead with 13:04 left to play.
Following a NCC timeout, the Cardinals finished the half on a 43 to 17 run which included a 25-7 run and led 51-35.
North Central shot 56.7 percent for the half while AU shot 46.9 percent.
The Cardinal out rebounded AU 18 to 13 in the half as well.
After NCC pushed the lead to 18 at 55-37, AU started their comeback. A 9-4 run cut the deficit to 11 at 59-48 with 15:36 to play.
An 11-0 Spartan run over the next 3:32 cut the Cardinal lead to two at 61-59. The run was fueled by eight points from
Phil Schuetz.
North Central answered and rebuilt a seven point lead (67-60) with 10:39 to play.
AU was not done though as they continued to battle back and tied the game at 73-73 with 6:10 to play on a free-throw from
Nick Kladis.
But a 7-2 Cardinal run gave the visitors a five point lead with five minutes still to play.
When AU senior
Kalmon Stokes drained a three with 3:17 to play, AU led for the first time since the eight minute mark of the first-half.
The teams traded shots with the game either being tied or seeing NCC in the lead. This was the case until a Tyler Carlson put back with 30 seconds to play gave AU a 91-90 lead.
The Spartans knocked down free-throws down the stretch and held on for the three point win.
