After winning the NACC championship for indoor and outdoor track last season, the Aurora University Spartan men began the 2015-2016 season strong at two separate invites.
The first of which was the Grand Valley State University Holiday Open in Allendale, Michigan where sophomore
Bobby Cooks competed. Bobby went up to Grand Valley in order to compete against top level competition. Bobby ended up running an 8.10 for the sixty meter hurdles which propelled him to the top ranked time in the entire nation for Division III athletes.
The other invitational the Spartan men attended was the Titan Invitational hosted by Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Illinois. Senior
Brian Rudelich had a phenomenal day placing first overall in the meet at high jump with an indoor lifetime best of 1.97m. Sophomore
Deon Conway continued his excellence as a Spartan by placing first at triple jump with a mark of 13.30m and second in long jump at 6.63m.
Next action for the Spartan men's track and field team comes on
Saturday, January 16 when they compete at the University of Chicago Phoenix Invitational. Meet time is set for 11:30 a.m. in Chicago, Illinois.
