The Aurora University women's basketball team took to the road as the No. 8 seed in the 2014-2015 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Tournament to take on the top-seeded Wisconsin Lutheran College Warriors. The Spartans fought valiantly but fell 71-48 to conclude the season.
AU took the games first lead on a three from junior
Bethany Dorrington and at 14:35 of the opening half after a three from junior
Shannon Koski, AU led 6-3.
The Spartans continued to hang tough with the Warriors midway through the first-half as the game remained close with a 14-14 score. But the Spartans ran into a polar vortex like cold slump over the final nine minutes of the half, going 0 for 12 from the field as the Warriors ran off a 19-2 run to take a 33-16 lead into halftime. The two points for AU came via the free throw from senior
Rachel Rivera.
The second-half started where the first ended though as AU saw the home team rattle off a 13-5 run and with 12:10 to go, AU trailed 46-21.
AU battled to the final buzzer but would see a 71-48 score as the final. Koski had a team-high 15 points while Dorrington added 11 points for the Spartans who finish the season with an 8-18 overall record.
