In a record setting performance in numerous ways, Aurora University freshman hurdler
Bobby Cooks finished second and achieved NCAA Division III All-American honors for his performance in the 60 meter hurdles in the 2015 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday, March 14 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
The second place finish by Cooks is the highest finish ever by an Aurora University track and field student-athlete and is just the second runner-up finish by an AU team or individual with the other second-place finish coming in 1990 by the AU baseball program.
Cooks broke his own Aurora and Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference record time with his second-place time of 7.95 in the 60 meter hurdle finals.
Attention for Cooks and the Spartan men's track and field team now turns to the outdoor season. AU opens the 2015 outdoor season on Friday, March 27 and Saturday, March 28 at the Augustana College Viking Invitational in Rock Island, Illinois.
