Project Linus a success for AU SAAC

On Thursday, February 26, 2015 members of the Aurora University Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and the Spartan Athletic Training Student Organization (SATSO) sponsored the 13th annual AU Project Linus campaign.

The two organizations were joined by members of AU athletic teams and athletic training students, athletic department staff, the physical education department and general AU community members in Thornton Gymnasium.

"
Project Linus is a great event to have on campus, we are able to bring student-athletes and faculty members together to provide help for a good cause," said AU senior and SAAC co-president Jon Glende. "I'm glad that we are able plan events like Project Linus that help give back to the community."

The group made fleece blankets, 64 total, in less than 90 minutes of work that were donated to Project Linus with an eventual end destination of Loyola University Hospital.

Project Linus mission is to provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new, handmade blankets and afghans, lovingly created by volunteer "blanketeers."
