Spartans soar over Eagles 2-1

The Aurora University men's soccer program hosted the Eagles of Benedictine University Wednesday afternoon on Vago Field. The well played contest found the Spartans prevail 2-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Spartans scored early in the first-half when Jordan Schure struck a volley at the 1:13 mark.
The Eagles evened the score right before halftime when Nick Kapetanos scored with an assist by Cristian Michalowski at 43:11.
The Spartans took the lead back early in the second-half when Angel Barajas scored off of a penalty kick at 56:25. Nick Cataldi was pulled down in the box to draw the PK.

Aurora had five corner kicks compared to six for Benedictine.
Benedictine recorded 15 fouls to 12 for AU.
The game was delayed 25 minutes due to a late arriving official.

Barajas led the Spartans with four shots.
Zach McFarland had three saves for the Spartans.

Nick Kapetanos scored a goal for Benedictine.
Cristian Michalowski assisted the lone goal for the Eagles.
Zorohn Reed recorded four saves for the Eagles.
