Kalmon Stokes, the Aurora University men's basketball team defeated a pesky Rockford University Regent team in Rockford on Tuesday night 102-98.

HOW IT HAPPENEDAU opened up an eight point lead at 27-19 with 11:19 to play in the first-half.
The Spartans used an 11-2 run to grab the lead after a tightly played first six minutes.
Rockford responded with a 15-3 run to take a four-point advantage.
The home Regents held their largest lead at six (46-40) with 3:33 to play.
AU finished the half on a 7-0 run to take a 47-46 lead to halftime.
Neither team led or trailed by more than four points in the second half until the Spartans took a 101-95 lead with 22.9 seconds left in the game.
The Spartans went 15-of-19 from the free-throw line in the second half including some clutch shots down the stretch.
BEYOND THE BOXHall finished five points shy of the AU single game record for points, previously set by Clyde Oatis.
Rockford played only six players until the final seconds of the game with all six scoring in double figures.
AU has won five straight contests.
The Spartans are 7-0 in 2015-2016 when scoring more than 100 points.
