The Aurora University women's basketball team used a hot shooting performance from the field while moving the ball efficiently on offense to defeat the Dominican University Stars 88-69 on Wednesday night in Thornton Gymnasium. The Spartans also had some special guests from the fifth grade class at Elgin Creekside Elementary School in attendance cheering them on to victory.

HOW IT HAPPENEDThe Spartans started off on a slow start trailing 7-2 before going on a 13-2 run to pull out in front 15-9 with 2:48 left in the first.
The Spartans ended the first quarter leading 17-16.
The Warriors took back the lead with 4:38 left in the second quarter, AU trailed 31-26.

Alyssa Brems hit a three-pointer to tie the game 31-31. The three was part of a 13-2 run to end the half.
The Spartans would go into halftime leading 39-33.
Aurora started the second half with a 25-8 run and ending the third quarter leading 66-49.
Dominican chipped into the lead with 7:44 left the Spartans led 66-54.
Aurora would defeat the Stars 88-69.

Anna Roszkowski had a double-double with 19 points and 13 rebounds
