The Aurora University men's basketball team traveled to Marian University on Saturday afternoon, looking to avenge an early season home loss to the Sabres. The Spartans took care of business, winning 77-69.

Game Box Score HOW IT HAPPENEDAfter an evenly played first five minutes, Marian used a 12-3 run to take a 10-point lead at 27-17 with 12 minutes to play.
The Spartans fought back and tied the game at 35-35 with one minute remaining in the half. That would be the halftime score.
The first few minutes of the second half again saw the teams trade baskets and leads.
Marian embarked on an 8-0 run, forcing an AU timeout with the score 49-41.
The Spartans cut the Sabre lead down to two several times and finally with just over 10 minutes to play, A
Kalmon Stokes lay-up tied the game at 55-55.
AU gained the lead on a
Nick Kladis lay-up and a three from Kladis on the next possession and 7:32 to play gave AU the games final lead change.
The Spartans out-scored Marian 15-9 over the final 7:32 for the 77-69 win. Stokes and
Chris Fritsch each had five points down the stretch.
