In a weekend non-conference series with St. Mary's, the Aurora University Spartans fell to the Cardinals 5-0 on a snowy Sunday afternon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Spartans started the game strong, going on the power play four times but ere unable to convert with the extra man.
The Cardinals scored the first goal of the game with 1:34 left in the period, on a power play.
St. Mary's opened up the second period with a goal 28 seconds in, the only even strength goal of the day.
The Spartans had many good scoring opportunities in the second period but couldn't find the back of the net.
AU saw St. Mary's score three goals in the third period over a three minute span, all on the power play.
The Spartans had 44 penalty minutes on the game compared to 16 for the Cardinals.
