The Aurora University men's basketball team survived a late second-half come back from Marian University before running off a late rally to seal the 91-84 victory on Tuesday night.

RECORDS: Aurora University 5-2 overall and 3-0 in the NACC; Marian University 0-8 overall and 0-4 in the NACC.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
AU jumped out to a 10-1 lead (trailed 1-0) and would never trail the rest of the game.
The Spartans maintained a double-digit lead and with six minutes to play, a Jovonn Griffin three gave AU the games largest lead at 36-18.
With a Matt Dunn lay-up just before halftime, AU led 47-33.
AU continued to hold a healthy lead in the second-half and with 10 minutes left in the game led 72-56.
The Spartans would then see Marian run off on a 21-6 run over the next seven minutes and AU led by just one, 78-77.
Max Vickers hit a lay-up and following free-throw to push the lead back to four (81-77) and started an AU run.
The Spartans would finish the final three minutes on a 13-7 run and won 91-84.
Vickers had five points in the final minutes with Dunn adding four and Pat Kramp and Jordon LaGrone scoring two each.

FOR THE SPARTANS
Seven Spartans scored nine points or more with six in double figures.
Ty Carlson had a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Marcus Myers had 21 points, six rebounds and six assists.
Max Vickers had 16 points.
Jordan LaGrone had 13 points off the bench
Jovonn Griffin had 12 points and eight rebounds.
Pat Kramp had 10 points.
