The Aurora University women's basketball team saw the 2015-2016 season come to an end in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Tournament Championship game on Saturday afternoon. AU fell to Wisconsin Lutheran College 61-52.

HOW IT HAPPENEDThe teams traded backets in the early stages of the first period and with 2:44 to play, AU led 16-13.
Wisconsin Lutheran finished the first on a 10-0 run and led 23-16.
WLC continued their run to 15-0 and led 28-16 very early in the second.
The Spartans then buckled down on defense and over the final 6:24 of the second did not allow a Warrior point.
As the defense was swarming, AU ran off a 13-0 run and led going into halftime 29-28.
AU freshman
Mallory Cast had two three's in the 13-0 run.
WLC scored the first seven points of the third quarter and led 35-29 with 6:06 to go.
The Spartans methodically worked back into the game and behind seven points from
Bethany Dorrington and six from
Ashley Wilk, regained the lead 41-39 with 1:46 to play.
At the end of the third, AU led 43-42.
After going up 44-42 early in the fourth, AU went cold from the field and WLC took advantage. The Warriors went on a 14-0 run to take control of the game.
The Spartans fought to get back in the game but got no closer than the nine point final score in the final minutes.
When the final horn went off, AU was on the short side of the score, 61-52.

Bethany Dorrington had 15 points, seven rebounds and four assists.
Anna Rozskowski had eight points and 10 rebounds.
