The Aurora University women's track team won the 2016 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships hosted by Milwaukee School of Engineering in Kenosha, Wisconsin (at Carthage College). For the fourth consecutive season, the Spartan women won a very tough conference meet guided by some incredible individual performances.
One runner who gave an other-worldly effort was senior
Emily Paull. Paull won three individual events and a relay (5000 meter, mile, 3000 meter and 4x400 meter) on her way to being named the NACC Track Athlete of the Meet. "First and foremost I'm proud of my team," said Paull. "As far as running four different events I can honestly say I felt great."
Another Spartan who showed tremendous versatility was senior
Talia Sheedlo. Sheedlo won the 55 meter hurdles, placed second in the triple jump, third in the long jump, and also competed in the 800 meter race as she was honored with the NACC Athlete of the Meet.
When the meet was complete, AU had 35 athletes score points in the 16 various events led by 40 from
Emily Paull, 29 from Sheedlo and 23 from
Deterrica Simpkins.
