The Aurora University Spartans rebounded from a mid week loss to defeat the Raiders of Milwaukee School of Engineering on the road 87-79 on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENEDMSOE jumped out to a quick 6-0 lead but the Spartans battled back and kept the game close with MSOE leading 20-16 with just over 8:30 minutes to play.
A Spartan 18-3 run over the next 4:15 aided by two three-point field goals a piece from
Nick Kladis and
Kalmon Stokes gave AU an 11-point lead (34-23).
With 2:14 to play in the opening half, AU gained their largest lead at 15 (42-27).
MSOE ran off a 7-0 spree before AU's
Jordan LaGrone hit a three just before halftime to give AU a 45-34 lead at intermission.
AU held their lead and with 14:36 to play in the second, a
Tyler Hall three gave AU a 17 point lead (57-40). The three capped a 12-6 run to start the second half.
Still maintaining a double digit lead in the second half, the Spartans had to with stand one last MSOE run. A 17-6 run cut the AU to nothing and tied the game (73-73) wth 3:56 to play.
A three from Kladis and eight points from Hall in the final minutes gave the Spartans the key road victory, 87-79.
The Spartans were solid once again down the stretch from the free-throw line, shooting seven of eight.

Nick Kladis had 16 points.
Kalmon Stokes had 12 points and nine rebounds.
Jovon Griffin had 10 points.
